We are committed to achieving high standards and have
strong links with Parents, the local and the wider community.
At Hinstock School, every effort is made to provide
a stimulating and broad balanced curriculum to prepare
your child for future education giving them skills and
enthusiasm to pursue learning throughout their lives.
We are an inclusive school that develops independence,
responsibility, kindness and good manners through our
detailed and extensive personal, social and health education
programme preparing pupils to be responsible citizens.
The main aim of the school is for the children of Hinstock
to be able to reflect on their primary school days and
to see them as enjoyable and rewarding times.
Mrs Denise Bidgood Headteacher...
I am delighted to welcome you to Hinstock School’s
website. We are very proud of our school which plays
a vital role at the heart of the village.
The school is supported by a committed team of School
Governors and Parent Teacher Association, both of whom
play a vital role in the success of Hinstock School.
The committed team of teachers, lead by Mrs Bidgood
provide a broad and balanced education within a friendly
caring environment.
Our school offers excellent facilities including Hinstock
Hedgehogs Nursery, which opened in April 2008 providing
full day care for 2½ - 5 year olds.
Our School...
Hinstock School was built in 1839 as a National School,
and extended in 1877. In those days it consisted of
2 classrooms and the school originally held up to 150
pupils.
The School has developed over recent years incorporating
the original Victorian building and new additions of
a hall, playground, car park, staff facilities and a
nursery. This school has 4 classes catering for children
between the ages of 4 and 11. We are enjoying the benefits
of being a growing school and are at an exciting time
of the school’s development.
On joining the school each child is assigned to one
of 3 houses, Bearcroft, Oswald or Pixley. Your child
remains in this house throughout their time at school.
House points motivate the children and foster a sense
of team spirit and belonging, with pupils collecting
house points for helpful behaviour, effort, improvement
and good work.
Behaviour is positively rewarded at Hinstock School;
a celebration assembly is held each Friday to acknowledge
the children’s contribution to making Hinstock
School a happy community.
